Monarch Preserve

Located between Montana de Oro State Park and the Morro Bay National Estuary this thicket of Eucalyptus provides migrating Monarch butterflies a habitat for overwintering. Nearby at Sea Pines Golf Course, a native nectar garden has been added to the fields of green in hopes of fueling adult butterflies on the journey in and out of the overwintering site.

Things to do nearby: On your trip, check out the ecologically important and unique Morro Bay Estuary. Visit  Sea Pines Golf Resort to see their pollinator garden, play a round of golf, or eat and drink at the restaurant or dance at Concerts on the Green.  Check out the Visit Los Osos Baywood website for more places to stay, eat, and play!
