Andrew Molera State Park

One of the most breathtaking of the monarch roosting locations, Andrew Molera State Park is located in the iconic Big Sur area. Visitors can explore the trails here and enjoy over 4000 acres park land including several miles of coastline, an estuary and riparian habitat along the Big Sur River, and surrounding coastal mountains. There is a seasonal walk-in campground open June through October. Visit the state park between October through February to see the monarchs in the Eucalyptus grove around Cooper Cabin. Just a half mile walk from the parking lot, this grove is near the Big Sur River. Marvel at the overwintering monarchs and enjoy every bend in the road, switch back on the trail and endless stretch of coastline. Additional lodging, cafes, art galleries, fine dining and endless outdoor recreation can be found within a hours driving radius from the State Park.
